Well this is some great news for us Civil Engineers! U.S. News has ranked Civil Engineering jobs as No. 26 in the Best Jobs of 2012 list. They are projecting roughly 19% growth between 2010 and 2020 in this field. They have reported that the average salary is about $77,560.
I for one am excited to see this prospectus. Seeing that recently job openings have been scarce (at least in the South Florida area), this hopefully will bring some hope to young engineers across the U.S. Civil Engineering is a very important field in our society as it affects each and everyone of our daily lives. Without bridges, clean water/air, roadways, traffic lights, highway facilities, buildings, etc. how efficient would our society and economy be?
